![]() Having said that, while I *did* buy my 92s, 2067s, 96s, 2096s, and now 97s for their abilites to Trunk Track, I *also* bought them for a lot other other reasons, too. I can see where Phil is coming from and I'll admit that I tend to somewhat agree with him, on *some* of what he's `complaining?' about. So once again, the scanner is for analog conventional transmissions, that is its selling point, not the fact that it will also do some trunking. So why make such an issue about it.Īlso, El paso and Colo springs public safety are not analog they are digital, not p25 compliant, but digital so that has no bearing on this scanner as stated above. Even if it does, there aren't that many systems that are analog in colorado and that is what everyone here monitors on this forum. I would be very surprised to see anything that the fcc is involved with go along smoothly and on time. The rebanding has been stated to start in july of this year. I am not sure that has been built into anything but the pro96. My pro92 will not scan a analog moto system in CC mode since it doesn't have this capability. Plenty of radio out there will So tell me this, if you program all the channels into the radio on a moto analog system, will it still not properly scan the system, or will it just not scan in it CC only mode. I don't need it to monitor all the edacs, provoice and p25 systems in this state or other states I have plenty of other radios that can do that. ![]() Milare alone would make me buy the radio. It wasn't meant to be the cure all scanner, just another rehash of the pro92 with a few changes. Phil you are getting a little to worked up over a 199 dollar scanner. Once Don releases WIN97 software it will be computer programmable.ĭefinately a good step up from the PRO-92 and PRO-95. Good sounding audio and can be cranked up. New 8.33 KHz channel spacing is implemented in the VHF Air band.ġ6 character alpha-tags is nice for a change. AM mode is selectable in all ranges so the 137-144 mil range can also be programmed into the radio as well. UHF mil-air is a big plus and the ranges are included in the "Signal Stalker" function and is great addition for those who go to air shows. The Uniden method however is alot faster in locking onto a freq in the case of keying a transmitter near the radio. ![]() You literally do not have to sit next to the tower to detect a nearby signal as is the case with the Uniden implementation. The GRE variation of the "Signal Stalker" actually does better than Uniden's version in that you can set specific bandspreads for detection or PS specific ranges. Very good reception on VHF LO/HI/AIR, UHF and with the 800 specific antenna the shack sells excellent 800/900 reception of distant signals. Picked up this radio last Saturday and it really is a nice analog radio.
